Mr. X has collected around 4.25-4.5 crore nett on first day (Friday) at box office. Film started poorly on Friday Morning and showed limited growth through the day. Film opened to occupancy of around 10-15% and after that registered on average occupancy of 15-20% for Noon and Afternoon shows. From Evening onward occupancy is in the region of 25-30% which is again below the mark. Mr. X is carrying significant budget and has good face value in Emraan Hashmi. Hence, opening day numbers should have been bigger than what it has achieved.
Initial word of mouth of the film is mixed and that is also another issue coming up. That suggest film may struggle to show necessary jump through the weekend as needed. Considering film budget and Emraan Hashmi as star value an opening of 6+ crore would have been nice. Film is well short of that mark now. Film needs excellent jump on Saturday (2nd day) and Sunday (3rd day) to put up decent numbers for the opening weekend.
