Roy has posted a very good first day (Friday) numbers at box office. Film has collected around 10.25 crore nett on opening day and thus surpass Baby as the biggest opener of 2015. Looks like audiences throng to theaters to watch Ranbir Kapoor as he is also having pivotal role in the film. Otherwise such kind of opening is not considered from a star cast of Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Roy started well on Friday with 35-40% occupancy in Morning shows. Film showed jump through the day and registered over 60% occupancy from Evening onward. Multiplex business was good for the day whereas Single screen was poor to average.
Numbers are good considering the fact that Friday was a normal working day. Also, film is made on a budget of 40 crore and if film gets another 2-3 such days in coming time it might emerge as the first Clean Hit of 2015. Already major chunk of investment are recovered from non-theatrical revenues.
