Mary Kom has registered good growth in multiplexes on Saturday (2nd day). Film although remained in poor level in single screens as like Friday, with little jump here and there. Overall collection for day two is good and there are now realistic chances that film will show further jump on Sunday to put up a good first weekend numbers.
Film performance is even more praiseworthy considering the fact that film face value is only Priyanka Chopra as others are not so as far as Bollywood is concerned.
Film has collected an estimated 9.5 crore nett on Saturday, thus putting two day total to around 17.5 crore nett mark. That means film first weekend collection is heading for 27-28+ crore nett mark which is fantastic by every means. Had single screens performed well then collections would have been even better.
Film needs to put up a distributor share of around 25 crore (India Theatrical 50+ crore nett) to break even. If film collects further after that it will be a HIT at box office. With the start film has got that is very much possible, in fact many more can be expected if Monday and weekdays hold well.
Coming to performance for Saturday, business in mutliplex is very good for the film and is fantastic in Big cities and Metros. Rest business is still average, but more than made up for them because of A-list cities business.
Collection Breakup -
Friday - 8 crore nett.
Saturday - 9.5 crore nett (est).
Total - 17.5 crore nett (approx)
