So, as just about the 3rd Quarter of the year is set to finish in 3 days time, it is absolutely lull at box office right now. All new releases released yesterday are washout with recording 5-10% occupancy in theaters. There goes a saying 'lull before storm' and we can modify that for box office by saying Bollywood is currently lull before the last quarter storm which is about to start in 5 days time.
3rd Quarter of the year had big bonuses in with Kick, Singham Returns, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Mary Kom, Mardaani. Kick went onto cross 200 crore barrier and become the highest grosser of the year also. But still state that with line-ups of Bang Bang, Haider, Happy New Year, The Shaukeens, Kill Dil, Happy Ending, Action Jackson, All is Well and PK, still best of 2014 is yet to come. At least Bang Bang, Happy New Year and PK will challenge Kick for highest grosser of the year and rest might surprise us with good results still.
First clash will start in 5 days time when Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starrer 'Bang Bang' will clash with Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Haider.' Then there is also release of Happy New Year in Diwali. October will see this three 3 big release and should be real Diwali at box office.
November has plethora of big releases and will start with Akshay Kumar starrer 'The Shaukeens.' Then there is 'Kill Dil' starring Govinda, Ranveer Singh, Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra. Also, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda and Ileana D'Cruz starrer 'Happy Ending' is slated for release in November. Hence, expect November Rain at box office.
As for December, it will kick start with Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha starrer 'Action Jackson.' All is Well starring Abhishek Bachchan and Asin Thottumkal is tentatively scheduled for release on 5th December 2014. And finally December with end with Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Anushka Sharma starrer PK.
If one had thought that another just 3 months are to go for end of 2014, just look at the big release count of films at Indian Box office. There is entertainment galore. Trade, Exhibitors are quite upbeat about all these releases and many are optimist that last quarter of the year alone will match the whole 3 previous quarters with the film line-ups it is having.
