This Friday will be remembered as one of the worst if not the worst Friday of 2014 at Indian Box Office. All three new releases O Teri, Youngistaan and Dishkiyaoon have faltered badly and literally washout in theaters.
Coming to Dishkiyaoon which was the biggest release among all with around 1300-1400 screens have collected around 1.25 crore nett on Friday (Opening Day). Such such wider release collections are extremely poor. Also, film is carrying significant investment and hence, much better collection is needed and expected. Film registered a meagre 10% on average occupancy across India which is extremely poor. Film need miraculous recovery on Saturday and Sunday if it has any chance left for surviving at box office.
Youngistaan was released in around 1000 screens across India and its collection for first was also poor. Film released on decent screens just accumulated around 1.15 crore nett around with occupancy in the range of 11-12% for first day. Youngistaan is also carrying decent budget and it needs to pick up big time on Saturday and Sunday. Chances are though of happening that is very less.
Coming to O Teri it performed the lowest among new releases. Also film had decent release in multiplexes as it is catered to that niche audiences. Film has collected a meagre 75 lakh nett around on Opening Friday, which is way to below. O Teri is released in around 800-900 screens and despite limited release registered an occupancy in the range of 8-10% on average across India.
