Jai Ho Challenging Box Office Records.

Realistically it will be very difficult for Salman Khan's Jai Ho to break any existing records at box office this January. Reason, it is neither having good release period nor it is banking on great franchise or ensemble big star cast. Only positivity is brand Salman Khan. However name Salman is big enough as he is right now biggest crowd puller to theaters without a doubt. But will that just be enough?

Last few big releases Chennai Express, Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3 all had great ensemble star cast and Holiday release period. Chennai Express got benefit of EID, Krrish 3 got benefit of Diwali, whereas Dhoom 3 got benefit of Christmas and New Year. In case of Jai Ho even 26th January falls on Sunday.

So, Jai Ho will more or less depended on Salman Khan and the content of the film. We still look at the few important records which will be chased by Jai Ho and what is the chances of breaking it. One can't underestimate the power of common man and hence, no one can confirm that box office records are 100% safe, whatever be the film release period.

Box Office Records in India

First Day (Opening Day): Dhoom 3 - 36.2 crore nett. Chances: Very less to break this record as film is releasing on Normal Working Day.
Biggest Single Day: Dhoom 3 - 38 crore nett. Chances: Yes, there is chances that if content of Jai Ho is good then it might break this record on Sunday (26th January).
First Weekend (Opening Weekend): Dhoom 3 - 107.55 crore nett. Chances: Again very less, content has to be outstanding to aim this.
First Week (Opening Week): Dhoom 3 - 188.6 crore nett. Chances: Very Remote, content has to be outstanding to aim this.
All Time Grosser: Dhoom 3 - 281* crore nett. Chances: Very Remote, content has to be outstanding to aim this.

Overseas All Time Grosser: Dhoom 3 - 26.6* crore gross. Chances: Looks improbable as Salman Khan can't fight it out with Dhoom franchise and Aamir Khan combination together.
Worldwide grosser: Dhoom 3 - 529-530* crore gross. Chances: Absolutely remote and improbable. For breaking this record, Jai Ho has to be one of the cult films ever in coming days.
