R... Rajkumar is on schedule for release tomorrow that is 6th December, 2013 at box office. Film is garnering good buzz before the film release and in fact songs of the film have become Big Hit already. R... Rajkumar stars Shahid Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonu Sood and Charmi Kaur (Special Appearance in Gandi Baat Song).
Year 2013 is been a low for both the lead actors Shahid and Sonakshi. Shahid Kapoor is waiting for a long time to give a Hit at the box office and his wait continues in 2013 also. Hope R... Rajkumar will change that for forever. Sonakshi Sinha is also having a low year with 'Lootera', 'Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbaai Dobara' and 'Bullet Raja' biting the dust. Hope R... Rajkumar changes that equation for her in 2013. RR is directed by Prabhudeva whose track record is quite good in Bollywood. So, that is one positive aspect of the film going on its hand.Coming to film pre-release buzz. Film is a masala entertainer and its song specially 'Gandi Baat' and 'Saree Ke Fall Sa' are big hit already. Hope these chartbusters carries the momentum and film takes good opening in theaters.
No doubt R... Rajkumar carrying one of the best buzz among Shahid starrers in recent years. And honestly film should take biggest opening of Shahid till date. Film is also expected to be a big release with 2000+ screens nearly locked. Final Screen Count of the film should be in the range of 2500, which will be outstanding.
Coming to box office collection of R... Rajkumar. Considering low phase of both the lead stars of the film, Shahid and Sonakshi, if film manages to collect near about or over 30 crore nett in opening weekend then it will be considered a great start. Yes, potential for the weekend is much more than that but we have to be realistic. First Week aim will be at least 50 crore nett for the film so that it can aim for a Hit status. If die-hard fans of Shahid or Sonakshi wants R... Rajkumar to zoom past 100 crore then first week collection should definitely go past 60 crore nett. Otherwise it will be tough for the film.
As for trade, realistically film should do business of around 60-70 crore nett in its lifetime. If content is good then word of mouth may take the film past 100 crore. If content is bad film might wrap its lifetime within 50 crore nett.
Budget of the film is around INR 45-50 crore (inclusive of P&A).
Film Running Time is approx 2 hrs 20 mins.
