So, it is almost decided now the screen count of both Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara which is releasing tomorrow and also Chennai Express for 15th August. Yes, there is a separate screen count for OUATIMD and Chennai Express for 15th August as it is Thursday, not normal Friday. From Friday (16th August) Screen Release Count will be different for both the films, which we will analyse tomorrow in detail.
Coming to the point OUATIMD will get to release in around 1250-1300 screens tomorrow all India. That means it will have limited release despite National Holiday on occasion of Independence Day. Makers of OUATIMD has able to obtain around 30-31% screen share for 15th August. Whereas Chennai Express has retained around 65-66% screen share for 15th August (Retained around 72-73% of screens of Opening Friday). That means Chennai Express has got a screen size of 2650-2700 screens for 15th August.
In Delhi City, for 15th August OUATIMD has got screen share of 30%. Whereas for the same Chennai Express has got around 68% screen share.
In Mumbai City for 15th August OUATIMD has got screen share of 33%. Whereas for the same Chennai Express has got screen share of 65%.
From above sample it is seen that OUATIMD is getting a very limited release on 15th August. But, as from early advance booking report for OUATIMD, it is damn good. Yes, screening is less, but going by the advance booking trend crossing a 10 crore nett mark, despite limited release on 15th August will not be a improbable.
As for 16th August onwards screen size of OUATIMD will increase to around 2500-2600 as per early reports. And for Chennai Express from 16th onwards it will get around 1300-1400 screens all over India. A detailed report on that will be made once, full screen are locked for 16th.
