Madras Cafe has collected a very good 20.8 crore nett in its Opening Weekend at the box office. Film has collected around 8.75 crore nett on Sunday as per estimates. Film started slow on Friday, but showed decent growth on later half of Friday to collect around 5.15 crore nett. After that film registered a growth of around 30-35% on Saturday to collect around 6.9 crore nett. Film showed further huge growth on Sunday of around 30% and thus collected around 8.75 crore nett.
Although Madras Cafe is a film for niche audience still it managed to pull good audience to the theaters. This, shows that if content is good no body can stop the film. Still Monday and Tuesday holds the key for the film as it will decide whether Madras Cafe have enough legs to sustain well in long run.
Coming to budget MC is made on around 35-40 crore nett including the publicity and marketing cost. So, if we recover around say 15 crore (Bare Minimum) from Satellite, Overseas and others. Then around 20-25 crore is needed to be recovered from India Theatricals. Which means around 45-50 crore nett will take film to safety and anything above it will be in profits. If film collects more than 60-65 crore nett then it will be in Clean Hit zone.
