Here is some important update on Satellite Price of upcoming bollywood films Chennai Express and Dhoom 3. As per reports floating in market both these big films have garnered a big satellite price rate of their upcoming film. Right now Dabangg 2 and ETT holds the record for biggest satellite price with around 45 crore after all the deductions.
As per Jayantilal Gada, CMD of Pen India, the agency that acquires satellite rights of Chennai Express for End Films. He confirms, “The price for satellite rights of Chennai Express is Rs 40 crore plus and not Rs 48 crore as reported. The price is Rs 40 crore plus for seven years, with a link to box office performance. I am not in competition to buy the satellite rights of Dhoom 3, so I don’t know how much the satellite rights are being negotiated for." That means Chennai Express has got Rs 40 crore as Satellite Rights and if makes havoc at box office, then it will get added bonus for that. Wow!
Now coming to Dhoom 3. YRF has mostly sold its film satellite rights to Sony so far. But Colors have jumped into the bidding fray with announcing huge 75 crore for Satellite Rights of Dhoom 3. Although official announcement is not been made yet. Trade expert believe that this is an inflated price as two channels are heavily bidding for Dhoom 3. Realistically Dhoom 3 will be sold for around Rs 55+ crore, and thus it will become a record as far as Satellite Price Market in India is concerned.
After huge recovery from last year through Satellite Rights, this year films have failed to get good rate for Satellite Price. After two big films Chennai Express and Dhoom 3 getting such bigger amount, looks like sunny days are back in bollywood as far as Satellite Price is concerned.
