As we have received huge queries in our mailbox regarding Salman Khan huge 500 crore deal for 5 years with Star TV. Many are asking the question to us how that will impact the Satellite Rights of Salman Khan films for next 5 years and how his remuneration will be in upcoming films. Will there be any changes in the budget of his films? Will his next 5 films will be of low budget than usuals. Let's try to answer each question one by one.
Till now Salman Khan has given nod to Mental, Kick, No Entry Mein Entry and Sooraj Barjatya's next. Mental is to release in 2013. Whereas Kick and NEME will see the light most probably in 2014. Sooraj's next might see light in around 2014 end or 2015 starting. That means if we see the trend Salman Khan should do around 9-10 films in next 5 years. That means per film Satellite Rights comes around 50-55 crore mark. This is big considering biggest Satellite Deals till now is Dabangg 2 and ETT around 45-50 crore range.
As for makers, they will have to bargain with Salman for having certain percentage in the Satellite Right deal from now on. This also implies that Salman Khan might look to settle with his team of makers with whom he is very close. It is not doubt that because of such kind of deal his remuneration for each film might come down.
What is interesting is that despite this kind of deal and makers knowing that they might part away with the Satellite Right profits if they have to sign Salman, still there is a huge line of producers knocking at Salman Khan door each day.
